Life is Funny

The munchkin has mastered the art of avoiding having her picture taken. She has a knack for looking away at the critical moment or dropping her smile to look at me with disapproval. Still, despite the serious face shown in the last several photos, she is almost always smiling and laughing. Molly, as it turns out, has a very easy going personality and short of strangers, not much ruffles her feathers!! In fact, she seems to find the world to be quite amusing.

Sneezing, for instance, seems to be highly entertaining to Molly. Truthfully, most noises catch her attention, but there is something about a sneeze that makes her laugh. Last week, she discovered her giggle and has been lighting the house with it ever since. Her new favorite game is "boo" (inspired by Halloween). It's essentially a cross between peek-a-boo and hide-and-seek, but she is especially tickled if you can manage to startle her (which only requires you to hide about 6 seconds longer than your standard peek-a-boo.

She's also into clapping her feet which she finds very funny. And recently she mastered the "jump" which looks more like a bounce. She cracks herself up everytime she does it.

In addition to humor, she's acquired an ego. She absolutely adores finding herself in the mirror and in pictures. Forget anyone else in the picture, she points to her self and says "Meh-me" which I can only guess is her version of Molly (because I usually say "that's you" not "that's me")--but it could be "baby" (though she's quite good at the "b" sound, so I doubt it). She also calls herself Maw (as opposed to Mama--that's me). Between the two, I expect she thinks her name is Maw-me (which for a 1 year old is pretty darned close to Molly).
